[NEWS] Jang Keun Suk Taking on Europe

JANG Keun-suk, nicknamed “Prince of Asia”, is working hard to embark on a European tour after wrapping up The CRI Show 2.

“My goal for this year is to visit small clubs throughout Europe and just perform deejay duties for partygoers. Everything is still not confirmed yet, but I hope to make it happen,” Jang said during his performance at The CRI Show 2 held at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium recently.

“Though I may not be fluent in the language, people have one thing in common and that’s music.

I feel that I can become close to people through my music and I just want to party, hang out and play my music for everyone.”

Jang explained that he hopes to finalise the plans for the forthcoming Europe tour once he wraps up The CRI Show 2, set to take place in four cities in Japan (Yokohama, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka), two cities in China (Shanghai and Shenzen), Taiwan and Thailand in a sequential order.

“Not a lot of people in South Korea know me as a singer but Team H (Jang’s duo unit group with his music partner Big Brother) has been invited as special guests at the 2012 Ultra Music Festival Korea (UMF) and the 2012 Summer Sonic in Japan next month.

It will be a preview of what fans can expect from my Europe tour.”

Slated to take place in South Korea on Aug 3 and 4, the UMF Korea is known as one of the biggest electronic music festivals in the world. Jang and Big Brother will share the stage with other popular DJs and rock bands such as Carl Cox, Tiesto, Skrillex and Steve Aoki.

He added that with the second round of the The CRI Show and the Europe tour he is expecting his nickname to be changed from “Prince of Asia” to “World Prince”.

At the first leg of his The CRI Show 2, Jang staged a circus-themed concert billed as “Welcome to the Magic World”. He sang a number of songs from the soundtrack on his TV series Marry Me, Mary (KBS2, 2010), and his Japanese songs from his first full-length Japanese album Just Crazy.

Jang left fans asking for more and rewarded them with two encore performances of his dance tunes Gotta Get Cha and Shake It. – Reuters
