The meticulous emotional acting by Jang Geun Suk who is starring in KBS drama “Love Rain” is critically acclaimed by the audience.

Jang Geun Suk naturally interprets the character of rough and gentle evil man “Seo Joon,” he uses one line to express the hurt suffered since young to now from the family, and in the happy period and parting scenes with Ha Na (YoonA), he expresses the change of emotion in great detail, allowing viewers to go deeper into the plot.
In particular, whenever he interprets the complex feelings of “Seo Joon,” his meticulous breathing, gestures, eyes are perfectly manifested.

[Interview] Jang Geun-seok "Can't compare with Bae Yong-joon"

"It's impossible to compare me with Bae Yong-joon. He's historical. I am just a newborn chick".
Actor Jang Geun-seok (24) said this as he was being compared to the byword for Hallyu, Bae Yong-joon. He continued, "We are not even alike and I am way below him. I hope I can dream of becoming a rooster one day. Of course, my fans are younger" and smiled.

He was being very modest but his popularity in Japan is outstanding. Some magazines reported that, "Jang Geun-seok has caught up with Bae Yong-joon. Known as the 'Prince of Asia', we met Jang Geun-seok in a café in Samcheong-dong.

"You Pet", which is about an owner and a pet living together, has already been sold to Japan and is waiting for release in January next year. Jang Geun-seok's influence can be seen here. His Arena Tour Concert in Japan last month was also quickly sold out.

His partner in the movie "You Pet" is 'queen of comedy' Kim Ha-nuel (33). They performed excellently together. "If it wasn't for Kim Ha-nuel, I would have been doing a one-man-show in the movie. Maybe that's why they waited for an actress so long. (Laughs)".

He is very playful and mischievous, teasing her at press releases and open events. He also took care of her like a boyfriend. In other words, he does what he wants to her.

"After the press preview, she said, 'how could you say that there' but she feels better after eating something delicious. We went to my friend's restaurant and had dinner there. I didn't cook myself but served her".

Jang Geun-seok told a story that happened with Logan Lerman, whom he met at the 16th Busan International Film Festival. Lerman plays Dartanyan in the 3D movie "The Three Musketeers". Jang said he tried to become 'Prince of the World' by getting in contact with Lerman, but failed.
"After the open talk I received his number but I think I met too many people there. The phone numbers got pushed around and it disappeared. I could lose my chance of going to Hollywood. Can't we have another BIFF? (Laughs)".

He said, "This was my first time at the BIFF. I wish six months of the year was BIFF. I am planning on having a Jang Geun-seok party next year".
Starting from his childhood days, Jang Geun-seok has now been acting for 19 years. Has he ever thought about another career besides acting? He said, "I wanted to become a doctor after watching Jang Dong-gun's "Doctor Brothers". I've always liked cars so I even thought about having a car center or becoming a driver".

What would he be like 10 years later? He said, "First I would be married with a child. Those I could depend on when I was younger were my family members. I have positive thoughts about being in a family and I want to make one. I am thinking about enrolling in a wedding specialist company next year. (Laughs)"

Meanwhile, "You Pet" is based on a Japanese comic about the romance between a skilled magazine editor Ji-eun (Kim Ha-neul) and Kang In-ho (Jang Geun-seok).

[INTERVIEW] Japanese Non-No magazine interview

Jang Keun Suk Interview
JKS’ occasional lapses into Japanese, forthright laughter and honest conversation – we love it!

SING
My choice to debut as a singer
Now my heart is almost jumping out!

In my teens, I ever thought about whether I could cut an album. At that time, I was still searching for direction as an actor, so I didn’t have much chance. Now, after acting as a singer in my dramas, I thought I could try to be this type of singer and so, I decided to produce my solo album. I remember a line I’ve heard before – Life begins with B and ends with D. B is Birth, C is Choice and D is Death. This means that one is master of one’s life. So I have always been serious in facing the life that I have set for myself. I don’t want to give myself a chance for regrets. But frankly, releasing an album in Japan makes my heart almost jump out… The hit song is “Let me cry”, which represents my passionately burning heart, you must listen to it!

STUDY
Learning Chinese and Thai!
Because I am a star!!

Do I speak good Japanese? Thanks for your compliments! Since my high school days, I started learning Japanese because I like Japanese songs, dramas and movies. The thing that influenced me most is music, such as Smap, Orange Range and Ken Hirai. When I was studying in New Zealand at 16 years old, I had a Japanese friend who often taught me conversational Japanese. Now, my Japanese teacher is from Osaka, so certain phrases such as “what” and “very” have been influenced, like “hontoni” [laughs]. Recently, I’m learning Chinese and Thai. [Here JKS proceeds to introduce himself in each of these languages] Hi, everyone! I am Jang Keun Suk from Korea. I am not drunk [laughs]. Do I like learning languages? Yes, I like to. Because I am a star!! [laughs]

FAVOURITE
Pursuing sensuality in music
Likes to go out alone in Japan

Music is indispensable to me. Waking up in the morning to classical music is to wake up in the midst of sensuality. When I travel to Japan, I will bring big-sized speakers to play music from my iPod, which I listen to every day. I will dance when I feel high! To me, music is a necessary presence in the pursuit of sensuality in life. If I walk into a café where the music is not to my taste, I will choose to leave [laughs]. What I like to do most in Japan is to go shopping alone. In the past before “You’re Beautiful” was aired, I often went by myself to fried pork chop restaurant, or stay more than 3 hours in a games arcade. I was very happy then. It was a first time doing something by myself. It was a bit lonely but the memories were unforgettable. Of course, now I cannot do that anymore. Frankly speaking, I hope to engage in more heart-to-heart talk with my fans.

LOVE
If I fall in love, I’ll fall so deep that I won’t ever give up until my heart is broken into pieces.

I like very feminine women who know how to cook, are kind-hearted and understanding. In terms of attire, I prefer women in short skirts!! Hope she wears that kind of feminine dress with a flowery lace edge. What will I do when I fall in love? Mm… I don’t know because I’ve not fallen in love before…Ah! That is not true [laughs]. I’m already an adult. If I fall in love, I’ll fall so deep that I won’t ever give up until my heart is broken into pieces. In the past, just to make my girlfriend happy, I rented a high-class limousine in Seoul to drive her around and we drank red wine in the car. When I woke up in the morning, I would tell her every day that I loved her. Although we have separated now, at least the love we had then was wonderful. We were free to express our love, maybe because we were young [laughs].

Editorial team’s survey
Want to know more about the JKS fever that has swept Asia?
We did a complete background survey on him!

JKS’ profile
Born on 4 Auguest 1987, blood type A. In 2006, “Hwang Jin-I” made him become a highly-anticipated new-generation actor. Last year, JKS acted as an indie band lead singer in “Marry me Mary” which will be aired in Japan this year.

Increasing popularity in Asia
Riding on the tide of “You’re Beautiful”, Jang Keun Suk’s popularity shoots up meteorically in Asia!! Last year on his performance tour in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore, Jang Keun Suk was swamped by fans and even caused traffic congestion. At the end of last year, voting results in 4 Asian countries for the Yahoo! Buzz Asia Awards 2010 propelled JKS to win in both the “Korean Male Star” and “Asian Star” categories. He had garnered an amazing 9,718,508 votes in the “Asian Star” category.
“I started liking him from ‘You’re Beautiful’. By the time I realised it, I was already very addicted. The character he played had mostly cool expressions but occasionally broke into a cute smile… and I also love his beautiful voice. I keep listening to his voice on the original soundtrack CD before I sleep,” says Non-No model.

JKS is actually an undergraduate
Now in the Drama & Movies course in Hanyang University, JKS tells us, “I’m learning Artistic Directing in university. Hope that one day, I can become a director and produce my own movie.” This is his dream.
There are many celebrities in university, and JKS belongs to the active type. At the school’s anniversary 2 years ago, JKS and friends organised a Lounge H event. “We didn’t ask the school for help nor get anyone to finance it. We did everything through our own hard work, and felt very happy. It was very popular. We had one event last year, and there’ll also be one this year! Now, in Seoul, my school’s anniversary is the most popular.” How wonderful it would be to attend!

Jang Keun Suk
Well-suited to all types of fashion
With his own unique style

JKS is 182 cm tall with a figure to be proud of. The first feeling he gives people – luxurious!? Surprisingly, his muscles are very firm, just the figure that the Japanese like? In Korea, JKS is often chosen as a model for fashion brands, and photograph shoots are getting to be easy peasy for him.
After many fashion styling attempts, the crew unanimously passed this – JKS with a little devilish expression on his face, yet with a touch of innocence as if a little cat is tugging at one’s heart!
Each different portrayal of various characters, whether it’s a rocker or hippie style, no matter what style JKS uses, it will become a fashion topic for discussion. JKS is always at the forefront of fashion.

[INTERVIEW] Jang Geun Suk confesses that he sleeps in the nude

The lead actors of “You’re My Pet“, Kim Haneul and Jang Geun Suk, recently sat down for an interview with “Section TV“.

During this interview, Kim Haneul exposed Jang Geun Suk’s tendency to be an exhibitionist. She explained, “Even though it wasn’t in the script, Jang Geun Suk would start taking off his clothes during recording.

Jang Geun Suk huffed in response, “You pretended like you weren’t looking, but you saw it all!“, to Kim Haneul replied “Honestly… I saw it all“, which drew much laughter from the set.

Jang Geun Suk then continued to explain that he had always disliked clothes getting in the way. He also made a sudden confession by saying “If I’m not naked, I can’t fall asleep“. This bit of information seemed to shock Kim Haneul, but not for too long, as she shamelessly asked, “Why didn’t you do that in this movie??”, causing the studio to crack up once more.

On this broadcast of ‘Section TV’, which will be airing today on September 4th, viewers will also be able to find out how Jang Geun Suk became the ‘#1 Artist to Avoid” and the special reason why he called Kim Haneul the “Queen of Romantic Comedies”.

[INTERVIEW] Midnight interview with You’re Beautiful’s sleep-deprived but happy cast

The following video clip (watch below) and interview caught the cast of You’re Beautiful in a rare spare moment as they filmed busily — time is scarce and it looks like they’re in the thick of live-shooting by this point, with just three more weeks left till the series wraps. The cast also seems unusually close and always in good humor, based on the behind-the-scenes clips that have been released.

(Basically, my principal reaction to the interview was, “Jang Geun-seok and Park Shin-hye, just date already!!” Seriously, it seems like they’re always flirting, and it’s too cute.)

In the clip, Park Shin-hye starts by explaining the cast’s nicknames for each other (which are explained in more detail below), and then starts reciting one of her lines when Lee Hong-ki appears. Hong-ki takes over and imitates one of Mi-nam’s lines from the scene in Episode 1 where she’s drunk at the party, and Shin-hye acts Jeremy’s part. Jung Yong-hwa arrives and Shin-hye recites his line from the Towel Scene. And then everyone imitates Jang Geun-seok.

They only sleep one to two hours a night and are wrestling with last-minute script pages, but the You’re Beautiful team was asked for a short interview. The clock read 1:30 am. The reason the interview went longer than asked is because of those unstoppable “pretty boys.” At times serious, at times playful, their moonlit chatter doesn’t stop. This is the unstoppable relay between Jang Geun-seok, Park Shin-hye, Lee Hong-ki, and Jung Yong-hwa.

How would it be having a girlfriend like Go Mi-nam?
Hong-ki: “Go Mi-nam is a really pure and kind girl, although her appearance is boyish.”
Geun-seok: “I think I’d feel burdened. If we dated, I’d feel like she might get dirtier.”
Hong-ki: “I’d feel too sorry to her to date. She’s so kind that even if I did something wrong, she’d keep forgiving me. I like fun girls. Someone where we build up a lot of memories and affection by going through a lot of problems and incidents together.”

Geun-seok (in rapid interview mode): “Hong-ki, do you have an ideal woman among celebrities?”
Hong-ki (very seriously): “I do. Song Hye-gyo. What about you, Geun-seok hyung?”
Geun-seok (momentarily pausing): “I don’t. Um… Aside from Park Shin-hye, I don’t have anyone. Keke.”

Yong-hwa: “I like good-hearted girls. Someone who doesn’t lie, who shows her emotions on her face… I like Go Mi-nam, too. Since I’m Shin-woo.”

Geun-seok: “What if Park Shin-hye asked to date you?”

Shin-hye (suddenly solemn): “That will not happen.”

Yong-hwa (with a special smile): “I’d have to take care of her. Because I’m Shin-woo.”

HIGH CUT:: “Shin-hye sshi, between the prickly Hwang Tae-kyung, gentle Kang Shin-woo, and quirky Jeremy, who is closest to your ideal man?”

Shin-hye: “Choose between prickly, gentle, and quirky? Um… As a character, the most attractive is the prickly Hwang Tae-kyung?”

Geun-seok: “Ah… so Shin-hye shows her feelings for me again.”

Yong-hwa: “I’m telling you, no matter how much I cover her with that towel, it’s no use.” [Jung Yong-hwa earned the nickname of "Towel Guy" for the scene in the men's locker room for covering Go Mi-nam's eyes with a towel.

Shin-hye: “Hwang Tae-kyung is the one to fall for the more you see him, Kang Shin-woo is the one who draws you the moment you see him, and Jeremy’s always fun to be with. To be honest, if I had to pick one between them it would be the prickly Hwang Tae-kyung.”
HIGH CUT:: “Do you like bad boys?"

Shin-hye: “Not exactly… um…”

Geun-seok: “If you ask women about liking bad boys, they will mostly deny it, but it’s true. They’d die before admitting it though.”

Shin-hye: “I never said I’d die before admitting it.” [Using Go Mi-nam's speech pattern] “Yes, that is true. You are attractive.”

Nicknames Renai-Jang, Avant-Hye, Hong-Star, Bolmae-Jung
Shin-hye: “There are nicknames we have for each other on set. Renai-Jang, Bolmae-Jung, Hong-Star, Avant-Hye…”

Geun-seok: “Shin-hye came up with Renai-jang, and I came up with Avant-Hye. Renai-jang comes from Renaissance Jang, because my ideal woman is a Renaissance type woman.”

HIGH CUT:: “Renaissance style? @.@”

Shin-hye: “Really feminine, very wifely and motherly. It’s like the style of women in the paintings drawn from the Renaissance to Rococo eras, when they wore dresses with small waists and large hips, and carried parasols.”

Hong-ki: “A woman in body and spirit, whose every feature is womanly.”

Geun-seok: “Shin-hye looks very boyish in the drama but in real life, she’s extremely feminine. At Chuseok time, the Mother Superior brought steamed chestnuts. Everyone was eating them by just biting into them, but Shin-hye had found a knife somewhere and was peeling them for us. It was such a feminine thing. Saying ‘You’re so Renaissance-like’ might make her feel nervous, so I called her ‘Avant-Garde Shin-hye’ instead, which is one step away from that, or ‘Avant-Hye.’”

Shin-hye: “‘Bolmae-Jung’ means ‘Yong-hwa Who Is Attractive Just As He Is’ [그대로 볼수록 매력적인 용화]. He is incredibly talented in songwriting and music, and he wrote the rap on the OST song ‘Promise’ himself. ‘Hong-Star’ is because he shines on his own. When I asked, ‘Hong-ki, what should we call you?’ he said, ‘Hong-Star!’”

Hong-ki: “I’ve been Hong-Star star since I was younger. It means I’d become a star, keke. That’s why Geun-seok hyung likes me a lot. Keke.”

A.N.JELL idols talk about idols

Geun-seok: “What is the concept of idols these days?”

Hong-ki: “These days, idols are young singers in a group. If a young singer comes out solo, they’re not an idol, they’re just a solo singer.”

Shin-hye: “In the past, it used to be that idols were 17 to 20 years old, but these days the range has broadened.”

Hong-ki: “The word idol is actually a really good word. It means the victory of teenagers. But if you don’t want to be called an idol and you start to be called it anyway, it can be difficult, just because of that one descriptor. Of course, celebrities have to manage their private lives, but the moment you become an idol, the restrictions increase. There are incredible things you gain, but also things you lose.”

Geun-seok: “There’s also the image that as an idol, you don’t live according to your personal life but that you’re a machine-like thing that moves according to the fans’ wishes. I haven’t tried being a singer so I don’t know for sure, but an actor absolutely cannot do that. To move according to the plans decided by the management company, like a flower in a greenhouse or a puppet, isn’t what an actor does. I’m a bit wild. If I go to the hair salon, I go alone. I really hate having a manager make an appointment for me or opening doors for me. Because this is my life. School, friends, that’s all on my own time, so I don’t understand why managers have to care about that and come into those areas.”

Hong-ki: “Because I am an idol, I feel the same way as hyung. Everyone dislikes excessive meddling, but there are aspects that you can’t control, because you’re one team. You can’t help it because it’s not about you.”

HIGH CUT:: “On the other hand, you get grand performances, hot popularity, and fans’ cheers and applause.”

Hong-ki: “That’s something you can’t forget.”

Shin-hye: “If you win some, you also lose some. Actors have our own lives too, but there are things like scandals and gossip that make people talk. You have to take responsibility for more things.”

HIGH CUT:: “As you act as A.N.JELL idols, do you ever get confused between reality and acting? Like you’re a four-member idol group yourselves.”

Shin-hye: “For me, after being with all four of us, when I find myself alone I feel empty. I start feeling down.”

Geun-seok: “Aside from an hour or two to shower, we’re together almost 24 hours a day. We’re really like an idol group.”
Shin-hye: “Actually, our lives right now are a lot like idols’ lives.”

Geun-seok: “Our shooting schedule is like an idol’s schedule. When we get the scripts, we barely have time to get familiar with them before we have to start shooting the next morning. Sometimes I feel sad about it, but finding your best within that is the skill of an actor. Everyone’s doing such a scary-good job that it’s startling.”

Hong-ki: “As we act, we barely have enough time to find own selves, but in the middle of that whirlpool we joke around and chat with each other. That may be an idol-like thing. Geun-seok hyung is good friends with a lot of idols. Shin-hye is good friends with me, and I’m an idol too.”

Shin-hye: “Of course! You’re the only idol I’m close to.”

In between the cast’s friendship and passion

HIGH CUT:: “Geun-seok sshi recently posted a message on the drama’s forum, which became widely talked about. The part about ‘It was my fault’ left an impression.”

Geun-seok: “My dongsaengs [younger castmates] had already written messages on the forums asking people to tune in. But I’m the eldest. This is my first time being the oldest on set. I thought that as the lead, I could have an influence on my dongsaengs, and it made me think about things more than the others. Rather than asking for people to watch, I thought that it might click more with people to express my thoughts about how things were, leading to the halfway point. It also came from feeling the burden. In any case, I couldn’t not talk about the ratings… I’m always like that to my dongsaengs, saying let’s not focus on the percentages but let’s have fun amongst ourselves. But because these guys are doing so well, I sometimes wonder if it’s a problem with me. As we came to the halfway point, I thought a lot about this and that.”

HIGH CUT:: “What’s your secret for gaining praise from viewers even while you’re wrestling with last-minute script pages and a killer schedule?”

Geun-seok: “All of us are pretty smart. We all know what ground we have to cover, our roles, and what we have to clearly express in each scene. If we are lacking in anything, it’s that we talk honestly with each other without reservations. That’s not regarding the acting, though… Also, when actors are working off each other, it’s difficult to maintain the same tension among all four people, but Shin-hye, Hong-ki, Yong-hwa and I amazingly are in tune with each other.”

Shin-hye: “Each of the four members has our own corner so the structure is like a rectangle, and a rectangle can’t roll. But it seems like we’re rolling along like a circle. We’re all similar in age, too…”

HIGH CUT:: “Because you each have an abundance of your own individual characteristics, it can’t be easy to roll along…”
Hong-ki: “I think we’re rolling along well because our personalities are pretty distinct.”
Shin-hye: “We make up for the gaps with the others, like fitting pieces to a puzzle. If a script comes out today that we’ll start filming tomorrow, we don’t have time to memorize it properly but when we work, it comes together so well it’s almost unreal. It’s amazing teamwork.”
Hong-ki: “When working with FT Island, when I get really tired, I can get bad-tempered. But here, when I get tired I joke around with Yong-hwa and Geun-seok hyung. When I arrive at the set in the mornings, Yong-hwa pounds on my car window. I’m a bit reserved, but we became friends right away. I’ve heard that people who are a little weird get along well. When I see Geun-seok hyung, he glares first. And I talk a lot with Shin-hye. I don’t have any time to feel depressed.”
Geun-seok (suddenly): “If you want to know what it’s like [in a sudden booming voice], KOONG!
The three others (In perfect order, as though they were waiting for it): “JJAK!
Koong-jjak is a sort of onomatopoeic expression of rhythm, like bang-thump.
Geun-seok (With Hwang Tae-kyung’s proud expression): “This is what our relationship is like.”
Shin-hye: “When Geun-seok oppa says ‘koong,’ we immediately say ‘jjak.’ That’s our relationship.”

What “You’re Beautiful” means in my life

Shin-hye: “It’s the best present to my 20-year-old self.”

Hong-ki: “It’s my best work after acting again as an adult.”

Yong-hwa: “It has a huge meaning that can’t be said in words. This is my first time on television, and I can’t forget it. There are the nicknames Towel Guy, even Milk Guy.”

Hong-ki: “Geun-seok hyung must feel so honored to have met Hong-ki…”

Geun-seok: “Um… It’s the fairy-tale-like story of young, beautiful kids. At some point, I’m sure I’ll change and go more macho, and my body will probably change. I want to pick out what the current, 23-year-old Jang Geun-seok looks like now, in this best time of life, the most beautiful time…”

Hong-ki: “The most ‘flower-like’ time. We’re flower buds, and hyung, you’ve bloomed. Keke.”

HIGH CUT:: “Shall we end this chat here for our flower-like young men?”

All four members: “Yes, thank you. Please don’t watch IRIS. Keke.”

[INTERVIEW] JANG KEUN SUK INTERVIEW WITH TEENAGE MAGAZINE, WHAT ANIMAL HE WANT TO BE?

Jang Geun Suk recently visit Singapore. Teenage magazine get the chance to interview them. Want to know what he said?

Take a look here :

This being your first visit, how do you feel about Singapore?
I think Singapore is unbelievable. There were so many fans waiting for me in the airport! Up till now, I had no idea I had so many fans here.

We heard that you are claustrophobic. Was it difficult for you to fly to so many countries for your Asian Tour?
Yes! In the airplane, I walked around with my manager so it wasn't so bad. However I tend to get a bit frightened when I am recording in the studio.

Did Lee Hong Ki, your co-star in He's Beautiful, give you any recommendations on what to do in Singapore?
He said that the weather is good and the shopping is great. He also told me that clubbing is very hot here!

What was your first impression of your co-stars in He's Beautiful?
I was initially shocked by Hong Ki's mop of blonde hair! As for Jeong Yong Hwa, he is really friendly and treats me like a brother.

How similar are you to your character in He's Beautiful?
Both of us are perfectionists, especially when it comes to work.

You mentioned you would love to act in the sequel if there was one. Why do you love this series so much?
It has a good story line, cute actresses and nice theme song. This is why this drama is so charming to me. I'm always happy when I get to work on drama serial and I really enjoyed working with this one with my co-stars

Any more dark secrets of your cast members?
Hong Ki is not very good at dancing! We had to film a dance scene but Hong Ki couldn't really catch up. In the end, we had to change positions so it didn't appear obvious/.

So, are you the better dancer?
Of course! [Laughs]

You sang some songs in He's Beautiful. When are you coming out with your own album?
At the moment, there are no plans for that. For now, I will focus on movies. But I am also waiting for the opportunity to cut my own album. Hopefully, I can do so next year.

With so many Korean artistes in the market, how do you hope to position yourself?
I don't know but I would like to be able to fulfill my dreams. Many Korean stars are well-liked in Asia and I want to be like them. One good example is Rain and I look up to him as he is a singer and actor. He may be holding two jobs but he does a good job at both!

For your next movie, You're My Pet, you have a romantic relationship with an older woman. How do you feel about romancing an older woman in real life?
Age is not very important to me so I don't mind dating an older or younger girlfriend.

If you were a pet, what animal would you be?
[Laughs] This is the first time I'm being asked this! I want to be a rabbit as I was born in the Year of Rabbit. I like that they only eat grass which means I would never have to diet!

Has your popularity affected your personal life?
Nope! My fans make me happy. They are my source of energy!

And lastly, if you fell in love with Singaporean girl, would you bring her back to Korea?
There are no boundaries in love so it's not a problem to me. That's actually my hope! To get a girlfriend here! If I bring her back to Korea, I will personally cook for her as my hobby is cooking.

[INTERVIEW] Jang Keun Suk interview in ANAN Magazine

the most popular Korean artist in Japan is Jang geun suk, after the airing of You're Beautiful, he won great popularity. The ticket for his fan meeting sold very well at the end of last year, even the fact that 30 radio stations broadcasting

the event simultaneously became a hot topic. it is such a shining shining star that is going to debut his first album as a singer on Mar 23rd! as a true actor(it just mean not an idol), why did he want to sing? "The first reason to debut a singer's album is: many fans have such expectations, so I want to thank my fans by songs of Jang geun suk's identity, rather than only by the characters/roles in drama, this is my gift to them".

Well, the drama which is on air (DATV) now, the beautiful vocal in the drama received praise too. Even a few years ago, there are Korean company invited him to make his first album. ”Before I accepted the invitation, I spend long time to consider it, the important thing is, I should believe myself, I want to do things that I really want to do, so I accepted the invitation from the Japanese company”

Preparing for the first album, how can you still have time to do practice for Asian tour?(answered in Japanese)

“No time for practicing o~(laughed), so picked some songs that fit my own style best (the Chinese here is not readable), actually, I am in no means of a good singer, so I tried to use my actor skills to fix (laughed)”

The topics of songs “let me cry” and “bye bye bye”, both are losing love, Did Geun suk have such experience yourself?

“No wonder a question from a women’s magazine(laughed). Actually I had tried very hard to maintain a relationship with someone in the past, but at last, I lost the courage to continue, so I suggested to end the relationship, I suffered pain of breaking heart for a whole month. I had always believed that nothing is impossible if you try hard, but it seemed Love is not the case.”

Such a person, he likes feminine women.

“The woman catch my heart, should have a warm and kind heart toward things and people around, the appearance doesn’t really matter. Of course, it would be happier if she looks lovely. In more details, long hair, curved, and looks good in short/mini skirt”.

What would he do if he got to know such a lady in Japan?

“Ah ha haha, what should I do? Call her directly (laughed), but the charm of a person, does not depend on the appearance, first thing is to know more about her, sure if she is really good, I would actively initiate the going after/dating! In fact I would like to try meeting/dating with some foreign girl with foreign culture. If we got language problems in communication, I would write love letters in Japanese, and give her the letter in person on her way back after our dating. Will the Korean fans get angry if I talked this way? Then he made a face and laughed.

Not long before, there’s a show in korea, I was so excited and I took off my T-shirt. The Korean fans told me that I should never took off my clothes in front of Japanese fans, sign.(laughed), but the Japanese fans expected my performance very much too.(Laughed), well, I am an artist that bring happiness to everyone, please expect more from me in the future

[INTERVIEW] Jang Geun Suk Warns, "Yoo Ah In, Are You Watching Me?"

While posing for photographs in a café during an interview with Joynews, Jang Geun Suk shouted in a joking taunt, “Yoo Ah In, are you watching me?”

Both aged 24, the two have met much earlier in their careers, having starred in a "Skoolooks" school uniform commercial in 2005

Other similarities include how both have very strong individualistic personalities and fashion styles. Earlier, Jang Geun Suk also revealed that Yoo Ah In is the same-age actor that he is most concerned about at the moment. Of course, the increased concern for Yoo Ah In could be due to the latter’s movie “Punch” (Korean name: Wandeuk-ie), which is the current no.1 box office hit, for three weeks running. Jang Geun Suk’s upcoming movie, “You’re My Pet,” co-starring Kim Ha Neul, will hit the theaters on Nov 10.

Indeed, while drumming up support for the movie, this natural PR guru urged, “Please, you must write that ‘I want to become everybody’s pet.’” Jang Geun Suk is indisputably the most effective spokesperson for “You’re My Pet,” with his smiles on and off the set as the biggest source of strength to the movie. Throughout the interview, Jang Geun Suk was charming – not only because he was so sure of what he wanted and so confident of his own strengths that it becomes almost disturbing – but also because of the honesty of the words that he spoke with his head lowered.

Held on Nov 7, the interview had been postponed for three days due to his drama filming schedule. Jang Geun Suk lamented, “I could only sleep for two hours, in the car while traveling back (to Seoul) from Daegu after filming ended. Viewing the current circumstances, it would be great if there were 48 hours a day. The physical time we have now is too limited.”

Time is indeed flowing twice as fast for this guy, whose busy schedule include the promotional activities for "You’re My Pet,” ongoing filming of drama “Love Rain” co-starring Girls' Generation's YoonA, and his concert at the Tokyo Dome in Japan at the end of this month.

“To tell the truth, I have a sadistic tendency in me. I don’t let myself off easily. When I say that I want to become more than the ‘Prince of Asia,’ that I want to be the ‘Prince of the World,’ it’s actually to pressure and train myself. I can look at myself very objectively, judge myself cold-heartedly, as I try my best. Although I do envy the freedom that friends of my age enjoy, I don’t regret the life that I have lived till now. This is not because of our different positions in life. It’s just that I’m content with my present life.”
The movie “You’re My Pet” is an anticipated movie, brimming with the charms of Jang Geun Suk. He is the fantasy character In Ho, a “guy-pet” who lives off a capable career woman by singing, dancing, showing much aegyo (cute gestures), and possibly anything else you would want him to do.

“People call this movie ‘Jang Geun Suk’s One-Man Show?’ That’s right. This is a movie which shows everything I can do. However, it is a heavy responsibility carrying a big risk, with the possibility of becoming 'The Movie that Failed due to Jang Geun Suk’s One-Man Show.' This is how big the burden is. (Kim) Ha Neul nuna (older female friend) helped a lot in lowering that risk of failure. She brought a lot of realism through her character, thus making the whole premise more believable. I provide the fantasy while nuna provides the human, real-life reactions; that’s how we delivered our roles. She proves again why she is the queen of romantic comedies.”

Regarding the Korean Men’s Association petition to prevent the screening of “You’re My Pet,” he maintained, “I don’t feel a need to comment about this.”
But he continued, “I just want to say two things. Firstly, there’s no need for any comment. Secondly, I feel that it will be hard to survive if one has that kind of mindset. If you become too egoistic and end up being driven out of the house, what’s going to happen to you? My master is going to give me an octopus-shaped sausage if I show aegyo. I’m content with that. I hate being driven out of the house.”
Regarding how much his movie character will be disliked by men, Jang Geun Suk is confident that he will be able to “win them over.”

“Although there are less hate comments compared to the past, I can’t expect 10 out of 10 to like me. What’s more, people will probably dislike me much more. This is not easy at all. But I don’t like to lie to everyone. I don’t like to be pretentious as well. I also want to as truthful to everyone as I am to myself. Even if men dislike me after watching this movie, I’m still going to win them over,” he said with a grin.
“Among all my works, this character seems to resemble me the most. All this while, I’ve been acting as characters with various troubled pasts. I had a strong desire to act as someone who’s always been cheery and happy – that’s exactly what In Ho is. I feel that my usual self is similar to In Ho in ‘You’re My Pet,’ while my working self resembles Hwang Tae Kyung in ‘You’re Beautiful.’”

“You’re My Pet” is adapted from a Japanese manga of the same name by Yayoi Ogawa. Starring Jang Geun Suk and Kim Ha Neul, the movie will open in Korean theaters on Nov 10.
