On the June 16 broadcast of the Jang Keun Suk-featuring episode of Happy Camp, the show recorded an astounding 6.49 percent viewership rating to make it place first and even beat out the Shanghai International Film Festival coverage which recorded a 2.54 percent viewership rating.
Many predicted Happy Camp’s ratings would slide due to the competition from the Shanghai International Film Festival coverage, especially with the festival being attended by global stars from all over the world.
However the Jang Keun Suk episode was viewed by some 350,000 viewers online alone making the program number one in its time slot.
Following the episode’s broadcast, Jang Keun Suk’s Weibo account also saw an explosive increase in followers by some 500,000 followers.
Jang Keun Suk’s Baidou fan club also rose in popularity from third to first place while the number of searches on Weibo for ‘Jang Keun Suk’ rose by some 20.2 million and 1.4 million on Youku.com
Jang Keun Suk will kick off his 2012 Jang Keun Suk Asia Tour ‘The Cri Show 2’ on July 7 in Seoul.
